"Mrs. McCallihan, I'm Freezing!"

The title of this blog entry says it all, and this is a statement I have heard a few times on the days where it's more fall-like outside. This comment has sparked this reminder about the temperature of my classroom, and about park time.

I have a tendency to keep my classroom on the cool side, temperature wise. It is a good idea for your child to dress in layers to help them feel comfortable for whatever the temperature is inside, or outside for that matter. Perhaps your child would like to keep a hoodie or a sweater on their hook for those days that feel colder.

We go outside in all kinds of weather, so it's important that your fourth grader is prepared--hat, gloves, scarf, rain gear, wet gear.

Also, a comment about PE, right now fourth grade PE is on Tuesday mornings. Please make sure your student wears appropriate clothing and footwear for optimum play. We are very physical during PE, running, doing conditioning to build up our muscles and aerobic strength, and playing group games. It helps the students give their all to the game when their clothes are not an obstacle to their play.
