Chester cricket accidentally climbs into a picnic basket and is taken to New York City. Mario a boy who works at a news stand hears him chirping and makes him his pet. He goes to Chinatown and gets a cricket cage. Later Chester gets really good at playing songs and gets very famous in NY. So after a while he gets tired of playing on schedule and he decides to retire and leave.
