Logan Read One of My Favorites--Liar and Spy

One of the books I read this summer was Liar & Spy by Rebecca Stead.  To make a long story short, Georges (silent s) is a 7th grader who moves into a new apartment building in Brooklyn.  He makes some new friends, Candy, Pigeon and Safer, who were all siblings.  Georges joins their spy club but at then end we learn that the man they were following, Mr. X, isn't really evil. Georges is upset with Safer but then forgives him.  My favorite scene was when Candy explained to Georges how they got their names.  She said when they turned two, their parents named them based on how they acted.  For example, Candy loved to eat candy, Pigeon loved birds and there were lots of pigeons in New York, and Safer was scared of everything, elevators, buses, loud noises, school and mostly the dark.  When their mom put Safer to bed at night she read him 15 stories, sang five songs, gave him three kisses and said "Safe".  When she left the room, he would yell "Safer! Safer!"  My favorite character was Pigeon because he reminded me of myself.
