The Music of Dolphins by Sofia

I read The Music of Dolphins by Karen Hesse. The story is about Mila. Mila is a human girl, but she lives n the sea with a dolphin family. I kind of recommend this book. I enjoyed most of the book, but the ending is sad.

In the beginning of the book, Mila was captured by the crew of a rescue helicopter. Mila was so scared that she was squealing to her dolphin mother. First, Mila was taken to a Miami hospital, and then they moved her to Boston.

In Boston, Mila lives in a house next to the Charles River. She lives with a group of doctors who are trying to teach her how to speak, and to write, and other things that humans know how to do. Her main doctor is Dr. Beck. There is another girl named Shay. She also needs to learn the same things as Mila.

At first, Mila seems really happy. She learns how to talk, write on the computer, play the recorder, and sing. One of Mila's favorite things to do is going swimming in the pool. She is really working hard to impress Dr. Beck.

Later, Mila starts to feel sad. Mila does not like the door to be locked. Once, Mila hit the door so hard she hurt her hands. Then she went on a hunger strike for nine days straight. They finally unlocked her door. She still misses being free so much that she begs to be brought back to the sea.

In the end, they brought Mila back to the sea to live with her dolphin mother. She is really happy to be back with her mother. Sometimes she misses her human family though.
