One hot day, she began to feel sleepy. So she got her blanket, laid
it on the floor, and fell asleep. The faint rumbling sound of a thunderstorm did not
wake her. Suddenly there was a flash a lightning. The girl woke up. The horses
were rearing and snorting. She grabbed a horse's mane and jumped on his back.
Then the herd of horses galloped away in an instant. She called the horses to stop,
but they could not hear her. Nothing could stop them. The girl clung on, afraid of
falling off the horse. Then the storm stopped. The horses took a rest. The girl saw
unfamiliar mountains. She knew they were lost.
The next morning she saw a wild spotted stallion. He was the most beautiful
and strongest horse she had ever seen. He told her that he was the leader of
all the wild horses who roamed the mountains. He welcomed her to live with him.
She was glad to.

The people of her village searched everywhere for the girl and
the horses. They couldn't find them. A year later two hunters rode into the hills
where the wild horses lived. They saw the spotted stallion, a colt, and the girl.
They called out to her. She waved back, but the stallion drove her away.

The hunters galloped home and told the people what they saw. The men mounted
their fastest horses and set out to get the girl. The stallion defended the girl and
the colt. The men may have never caught the girl until her horse stumbled and fell.
The girl was glad to see her parents but missed the wild horses. She became ill
and the doctors could not cure her. They asked what would make her well again.
She wanted to be with the wild horses. Her parents agreed that she could go back
to the wild horses.

I like this book because it has horses in it. I LOVE them. I think that the girl loved
horses as much as I do. I think that she didn't take any horse riding lessons
like me. I would like to be a wild horse too. I think it would be fun. Probably.
