Because of Winn Dixie is a story about a 10 year old girl named India Opal who finds a dog and names it Winn Dixie.She left her old friends behind and moved to Naomi,Florida where she starts a new life.She works in a pet shop to save money for Winn Dixie's red collar.

She enjoys going to Herman W. Block Memorial Library to find books to read.She met new friends in this library like Ms. Franny Block and Amanda. She is sad because her mother left when she was three years old. Her dad told her 10 things about her mom so she can know her better.

I will give this book a 5 out of 5 stars because it is a lovely and sad story. It is a sad story because her mom left her when she was three years old. It is a lovely story because her friends helped her to forgive others. This book taught me that I can be friends with everybody regardless of their age and personality. I love this book because it is about a dog.
