Because of Winn Dixie--A Summary by Grace

Because of Winn-Dixie is about a girl named India Opal Buloni and

finds a dog at a grocery store and names the dog Winn-Dixie, after

the store. Opal left her friends and moved to Naomi, Florida and

lived there. She also worked in an pet shop to get money for an

red collar that she found for Winn-Dixie.

Opal didn't have any friends in Naomi yet, but found two at the

Herman W. Block Memorial Library named Ms. Franny Block and

Amanda. Opal is really sad because her mother left her and her

father when she was three years old. Opal asked her father to tell

her 10 things about her mother, because she was 10 years old.

Opal got more friends like Otis, Sweetie Pie, and Gloria Dump.

Gloria and Opal had a party for everyone to get together. They

invited everybody and had the party in Gloria's backyard. Soon

after they started, it started raining. Everybody rushed inside.

Then Opal noticed that Winn-Dixie was missing. She and her father

ran outside to look for him. But they didn't find him. Later they found him

inside Gloria's house sleeping. I will give this book five stars because

sometimes it's funny and sometimes it's sad.
