If Only We Had More Dictionaries!

There was quite the competition in the STEAM section of the Parent Student Evening rotation! Parents and students worked together to create a table structure with 10 pieces of copy paper and 1 yard of tape. The structure would then be tested to hold at least one dictionary. Madalena Silva and her father created a structure that could hold nearly 20 books! Well the last group of dads decided they could reach more. Most were able to hold 25, and unfortunately that is the total amount of dictionaries in the fourth grade, so we could not add anymore.

A gorgeous, thought provoking mural was created by the fifth grade and their families in Art, while the fourth grade and their families showed off their paper cutting skills with the art of Papel Picado. Beautiful haiku were written by fifth grade in Spanish, while fourth graders and their parents played games and practiced Spanish words. Recorders and beautiful singing floated from the music room. It was a grand night! Thanks for all who attended and contributed to a fantastic evening!
