Learning about Bees

Did you know that some pollen is blue? Do you know why some honey is darker than others? We do...now!

Our guest scientist and bee keeper, Tami Resch, taught us amazing things about bees and honey production. Ms. Resch visited our STEAM session on Monday, sharing her love and knowledge of bees, and beekeeping.

We learned the types of bees in a hive, we learned how bees pollinate, and make honey, and we observed how honey is extracted from the hive. We also gained understanding of how people are threatening the life of bees. She showed us all the foods and plants that we wouldn't have if there were no bees. Lastly, we tasted a honey comb and some freshly extracted honey.
