We've earned a Read All Day!

On Thursday, May 23, we will enjoy our third read all day! The students read 210 books, AND wrote 210 letters (actually it's a bit more but we only needed to reach 210). In light of recent lice events, I want to take some extra precautions for the read all day.

During read all days the students delight in making cozy places in our classroom to spend the day with their reading materials. In the past they have shared and borrowed each others things.  I think it will be important for each child to bring and use only his or her own pillows and blankets.  The fifth grade brainstormed a great way to make forts using paper, and I will make that available as well.

The usual read all day rules apply:

• Students may choose any reading materials including magazines, newspapers, comic books, manga, etc. They may bring a stuffed animal, a pillow, and a blanket or towel. Whatever they bring they have to carry it up the stairs and down. 
• We will still have Art, PE, Park, and Worship that day.
