Field Trip to South Street Seaport

This month’s STEAM cycle is about shipwrecks, oceans and navigation. Our study will include a visit to South Street Seaport Museum at South Street and Fulton Street in lower Manhattan.  While there we will learn about a day in a sailor’s life, and tour the Peking, a ship in the harbor. 

The Fourth and Fifth grades will visit the South Street Seaport Museum on Wednesday, May 15, leaving school at 8:45 and returning by dismissal.  Students, accompanied by four teachers and two parent chaperones, will take the PATH train to the WTC station, and then take the NYC subway to South Ferry.  Then they will walk to the museum. Students should dress for the weather (in layers) and wear good walking shoes.  They will also need to bring a disposable snack and lunch.

Permission slips will go home on Wednesday, May 8. Please sign the permission slip and return by Monday, May 13.
