No Talking by Liam
Boys and girls at Laketon Elementary have problems with each other, BIG PROBLEMS!! Then Dave Parker comes up with an idea. How about all the boys and girls in 5TH grade try to be as quiet possible? At first you didn’t know anything was unusual was going on. When you start reading it gets really good and the author starts explaining lots of things. This class had big problems with being quiet. Teachers called them The Unshushables. But then the teachers got mad because they didn’t think it was a good idea for students to start being quiet. Kids would answer in 3 words or less. So the principal says they can’t continue this. They do anyway. Dave has to go to the principal since he started it. He gets the principal to like and join in the idea. And it goes on for the rest of the school year. Find out what else happens by reading this book. I liked the book because it was interesting, funny, and well written.

Cricket in Times Square by Annabel

Chester the cricket came to New York in a picnic basket, under some sandwiches. Mario, who runs a newsstand finds Chester and decides to keep him. When Mario leaves the stand, Chester meets a mouse named Tucker and a cat named Harry. They listen to the radio and Chester starts playing the songs from it. He chirps for Mario and a lot of people hear him. Chester gets famous but being famous is a lot of work.He was a little homesick so he went back home to Connecticut.


I thought that the beginning of the book was funny when it said that Chester came to Times Square in a picnic basket. My favorite character was Tucker because he gave Mario the two dollars when Chester ate the two dollar bill and he helped Chester learn some songs for his mini concert.

The Whipping Boy by Dominique

The king's son Brat does not know how to spell his
own name or the ABC's. So he escapes with the
whipping boy named Jemmy because Brat didnt like his life .
Until this guy named Billy Hold Your Nose wanted to steal money from
them because he knew that Brat belonged to the royal
family. He rips their clothes and almost got
whipped by him. They were in the midle of the woods
and they didnt know where they were. Both found safety
in the small town when Cutwater and Billy found them.
They returned back home thanks to the people who showed them the way.
At the end prince Brat learns how to write his name
thanks to Jemmy and they lived happily
ever after.

The Magician's Nephew by Roberto

The two main characters in the book are a boy named Digory and a girl named Polly. The author use lots of common words. This book is part of The Chronicles of Narnia but they actually get to see Narnia get created at the end of the book. First they go through a magic portal to the Realm of Charn but they bring something back....?
