American Folk Museum field trip.

On Thursday, Feb. 17, my class and I went on a trip to the American Folk Museum, and had a lot of fun. First we walked down to 14th Street to catch the Ferry, then we took a ride on the bus to the Museum, but it was closed, so we walked across to a little a square. In the square there was a big statue, which was gray and looked like piled rocks. Then we walked over to the museum, and met a woman named Nicole. She gave us a tour of the museum, and we learned about quilts, bone statues, and drew a person riding on a horse/dragon made out of tree root. Folk art is just people who taught themselves to do art, and they use all kinds of materials.

After the museum, we ate in a dirty gazebo, but it was the only place with no snow. We played charades while eating lunch. It was crazy, then we walked and waited for the ferry bus. It seemed like a long time. Then we rode back on the ferry, and we were back. Next was playing in a wet Maxwell's park. I have a knee injury and cannot run or kick and so I was VERY bored. You can guess who "I" am. Then we had a horrid loooooooonnnnggggg walk back. When we got back, everyone wanted to do their Spanish homework so we would have NO homework that night. It was an awesome field trip.
