This is a sample news article I shared with the fourth grade students today to begin our study of news article writing. Students brainstormed several ideas of events happening between now and December 31. Student articles will be shared on this blog.
The tree is up. The stump is out. The worship room is set up different. People of Mustard Seed School are excited, and with good reason. 1. It’s Advent season, and 2. It’s the mini-term.
Jonah, Moses, Adam and Eve, and Samson are just a few of the Bible stories we will hear this month during our celebration of Advent. Each day there is a new play. Each day there is a new ornament placed on the tree as a reminder.
Just a reminder, worship is at 8:30 during this time, so arriving promptly at 8:15 is a good plan so you’re ready to start your day, and so you don’t miss a minute of our joyous Advent celebration!
Mrs. McCallihan was wearing a beret yesterday to get into the swing of our mini-term activities. The fourth and fifth grade students will be reading stories, preparing drama scripts, creating props and other stage necessities, and filming their dramas as a part of the Cans Film Festival. Movies will be shared, cans will be collected, and everyone will celebrate their work!
“It’s going to be a busy month,” Mrs. McCallihan explained. “But it’s going to be a great one! You won’t want to miss it!”
No, I don’t think we will.
