Meet Mr. Steve Dunn, our resident artist from Carnegie Hall

This year grades 3 through 5 will be participating in LinkUp! curriculum designed by Carnegie Hall Weill Music Institute. The curriculum is designed by a New York based composer Thomas Cabaniss and it is a year-long program that will tie in to our regular music studies at Mustard Seed. In May, students will be invited to sing with/play recorder with/listen to a concert hosted by Thomas Cabaniss, featuring St. Luke's Orchestra, at Carnegie Hall.

Through out the year we will have Mr. Steve Dunn,our resident artist from Carnegie Hall, coming to music classes to help us prepare for the concert. Just a little more information about Mr. Dunn:

An inaugural member of The Academy, the prestigious postgraduate fellowship program of Carnegie Hall and The Julliard School, trombonist Stephen Dunn now maintains a balanced career as a performer and educator. Having previously served as principal trombone of the Monterrey Symphony Orchestra in Mexico, Stephen has most recently appeared with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and Pops, the Aspen Chamber Symphony, at Lorin Maazel’s Castleton Festival, as well as with numerous orchestral and chamber ensembles throughout the New York area. His continued commitment to education and community engagement has led him to join the teaching artist faculties of the NY Philharmonic and Carnegie Hall’s Weill Music Institute, where he works in partnership with classroom teachers to more deeply incorporate music into educational settings. A graduate of Rutgers University and the Yale School of Music, Stephen is also an alumnus of the Pierre Monteux School and Aspen Music Festival.
