Book: Ragweed by Avi

Ragweed is a young mouse. He’s only about four months old. A few weeks ago he was with his family by the brook begging his parents to let him see the rest of the world. Finally he’s in Amperville. Ragweed is glad he went.He’s met many friends--one is Clutch a female mouse and the other is a white male mouse named Blinker. Clutch saved Ragweed from Silversides [a mouse chasing cat] on Ragweed’s first day by pulling him in her house. That’s how they met.

Now about Blinker. Blinker was not an ordinary mouse. He’s a pet or was a pet at the same house as Silversides. He ran away. But that was a problem because he didn’t know the way back or the dangers of the group of city two city cats [Silversides and her friend Graybar] called F.E.A.R. [Felines Enraged About Rodents].

Before Ragweed left the brook there was a mouse club called the Cheese Squeeze Club. There was a band that Clutch played in at the club. Ragweed and Clutch went there not knowing danger was lurking in the shadows. F.E.A.R. had found out all about the club and decided to destroy the club. Luckily Clutch and Ragweed escaped.

After a while Ragweed secretly decided to leave, but when passing the garbage piles he sees Blinker and Silversides who is coming towards him quietly. He yells and Silver sides turned her head. When this happened Blinker saw Silversides and ran to the same pile as Ragweed. Then Ragweed and Blinker got into a bottle and started rolling it down the pile[they did this in this way
so they would not be seen].

Then they went to Clutch’s house. These two mice had outfoxed F.E.A.R. and would do it again.

I like this book because it is very fun and interesting.
