And Fourth Graders move on to Fifth, here are some highlights to look forward to:
1. Farm Trip and Gettysburg: Next year the trip will be in October. The farms were a great learning experience, but Gettysburg was probably my favorite part of the trip!
2. Roller Coaster Physics: Any fourth grade student can tell you about the incredible, thrilling roller coasters this year's fifth graders built with masking tape, cardboard tubes, and paper plates. The riders of these physics wonders are marbles, and those marbles plunged down depths, whipped around helices, and flew through the air as they escaped gravity's pull.
3. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration: Students pick, memorize and recite a Langston Hughes poem. They create artwork reflecting their poem of choice in Shared Space Extension. The worship celebration is loved by both lower and upper school students.
4. Buehler Challenger Center: With the sixth grade, students take part in a NASA simulation landing on another planet, solving experiments, and monitoring the trip from Mission Control.
