This Week in the Fourth Grade 10/27/10

We Celebrate Luis
Skateboarding, scootering, and the Mets are three things Luis enjoys and shared during his Student of the Week celebration. We heard about his dog, Dexter, and watched a demonstration of one his skateboarding tricks. We are blessed to have Luis as a member of our community. Welcome Luis!




USA Study
Major landforms, incredible architecture, buildings, and structures, and the differences of one region compared to another are part of our study of the United States. Students in teams of three have chosen a region to investigate and report on. Also, each student has their own state to research. In Shared Space Extension, the students will make a model of their region, and a model of a structure or building from their state.

Movie Making at the Apple Store
On Monday, November 15, we will head to the Apple store on 14th street to learn more about the program iMovie. We will film infomercials about our USA region. Students will leave with a DVD of their iMovie piece and a t-shirt. I'm looking for 1-2 parents to attend with us. If you are free on that Monday from 10 to 2, and would like to attend, please let me know as soon as possible.
