What's Up in April?

On Friday, April 4, Ms. Buckley and Mrs. McCallihan will co-present a session called Full Steam Ahead at the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA) Conference in Boston. Ms. Buckley and Mrs. McCallihan will speak about the STEAM program.

Engineers for a Sustainable World,a group of Stevens students in science and engineering majors, will present lessons on sustainability and environmental awareness to the fourth grade students on Wednesday, April 9, during STEAM time. These young men and women will work with three groups of students,making connections on how to care for our world, and what role Environmental Engineers play. 

Fourth graders will work in groups on the following topics:

-- renewable energy versus non renewable energy
-- lighting efficiency and conserving electricity
--  food waste and sustainable farming

Three fourth graders and an alternate will participate in the Hoboken Rotary Spelling Bee Thursday, April 10. Everyone is welcome to attend and cheer on Madi, Logan, and Livy (and Gabe, our alternate)!! More info can be found here.

The Way of the Cross celebration is Tuesday, April 15, at St. Peter and Paul Church in Hoboken.

Passover, most students favorite celebration of the year, is Thursday, April 17. Lunch will be provided for students. There is an early dismissal that day. Fourth graders will be dismissed at 1. 

Easter Vacation begins Friday, April 18, and school resumes, Tuesday April 29.
