On Monday, November 7, the Choristers will gather at school at 8:10 AM and will leave for All Saints right away by 8:15. The Choristers, along with Mrs. Mauldin, Mrs. McCallihan, Mrs. Spurgin, and Ms. Hanson, will go to All Saints and stay from 8:30 - 9:30 to sing and also to attend the Leadership Summit. In addition, the Choristers will also be at All Saints this Friday morning November 4th for a rehearsal at about 9:00 AM. Mrs. Mauldin and Mrs. McCallihan will accompany the children at Friday's rehearsal. Students will wear their spring concert (orange) t shirt, and school appropriate pants.
This event on November 7 is called the Month of the Young Adolescent Leadership Summit. There will be various leaders from the community assembled - members of the board and vestry, other clergy, some council members, representatives from the police and fire departments, members of the shelter board, etc. The Summit itself represents a chance for students to express the wishes, hopes and concerns of adolescents everywhere. This year's theme is hunger and homelessness. Parents are more than welcome to attend on November 7, but please RSVP, so that enough chairs will be set aside.
