I am so excited to be back to school! Although the air is rather chilly in the building, children's voices and excitement will certainly warm the school, and our hearts! Please make sure to have students dress in layers for warmth. I'm even a bit chilly, and if you don't know me, that's really saying something about the temperatures in the rooms.
Many things will be the same in our days this week, but there will be no spelling and math homework. Students should be prepared to share their fantasy book talk on Thursday, November 8.
There are many calendar changes because of the storm, please make a note of the following:
Things cancelled this week:
Science Night (Nov. 8)--postponed until after Christmas
Open House for November 10
Spelling bee - new date TBA
Date changes:
School takes place every week day until Friday, November 16 for students. That is, November 16 is no longer a teacher work day, but a day for students. It is the last day before Thanksgiving break.
The Thanksgiving celebration is at 8:30 & 11:00 on Nov. 16 in the Community Room.
Upcoming events:
HONK!, our drama production, will be Thursday, December 15.
November 29 & 30 are parent conference dates. On November 30, grades 6-8 are in session, but Sky - grade 5 will not be in session, due to parent conferences.
