At school this week we will be preparing for the farm trip. Today we discussed listening well, and remembering our actions effect others, and distracting actions waste time.
On Wednesday, with the fifth grade, we will read a letter from Auntie Joyce. Auntie Joyce hosts us at her farm each year. She prepares special activities for us, and we have a picnic. Students will write a letter in response to Auntie Joyce.
On Thursday we will practice table and trip manners. We will be eating at family's homes on Wednesday evening (April 6). So on Thursday we will practice and discuss dinner conversations, passing dishes, trying a bit of everything on our plate, and remaining seated at the dinner table until our hosts dismiss us. We will also review polite ways to talk about differences.
On Friday we will review how to pack for the farm trip. We will review our packing list, and discuss what not to bring. We will discuss a good way to store our belongings efficiently. Also we will stress the importance of labeling everything, and the best way to do that.
